EHCPs - we need YOUR voices

We have been approached by Action Cerebral Palsy about rumours that the Labour government may be planning to get rid of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools.

Reports suggest that these changes are being fast-tracked directly into a White Paper this September - bypassing the usual consultation process that a Green Paper would involve.

We are working closely with Action Cerebral Palsy to ensure that the voices of young people with Cerebral Palsy and parents/carers are not ignored. EHCPs are absolutely crucial to many children with CP in mainstream settings and it is essential that young people with CP and their families are given a platform.

If you, or someone you know, would like to share your experiences and/or speak up about how this could affect you, please get in touch at office@cpteensuk.org.

Whether you're a young person with Cerebral Palsy/physical disability currently in school, an adult with Cerebral Palsy/physical disability who wants to share your experiences of your school days, or a parent/carer - your voice matters.
