CP Teens UK's infrastructure is small - we run entirely on volunteers in Chesterfield, North Derbyshire. We travel to deliver events and initiatives whenever possible and when/where there is demand. However, the majority of our in-person events and initiatives are in the Midlands, North Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.

We often get youngsters, adults and their families/PAs travelling a fair way to CP Teens UK events - from London, Essex, Sunderland and Glasgow just to name a few! We are always so touched by the number of miles travelled by many to attend CP Teens UK events and initiatives - it means the world to us that so many of you clearly get so much out of attending that you are prepared to travel such a long way.

However, we understand the expense involved - travelling is not cheap! We are pleased to therefore introduce the CP Teens UK Travel Zones!

What is it?

Going forward, for every in-person CP Teens UK event or initiative, we will set 'zones' in 25 mile radiuses from the location of the event or initiative. Each zone will give you a contribution towards your travel costs (driving).

For example, using the zone map above - the location is set to the CP Teens UK office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire:

GREEN

25 miles or below radius

No contribution

YELLOW

26-50 miles radius

£10 contribution

RED

51-71 miles radius

£15 contribution

PURPLE

76-100 miles radius

£20 contribution

WHITE

101+ miles radius

£25 contribution

What if it doesn't cover all of my travel costs?

It is a contribution only. It is a helping hand rather than covering all your costs.

What if I am travelling from the edge of a zone?

Unfortunately the cut-off has to be somewhere! To be as fair as possible to everyone, we will use the zone that the postcode you're travelling from/back to is in.

How do I claim back?

At point of registration for a CP Teens UK event or initiative, we take your address. We will now use your postcode to set your zone if you consent. After you have attended, we will reimburse you in line with your zone.

Do the zones change?

Yes - the zones will be set from the location of the CP Teens UK event and initiative. For example, for a Sheffield based event, people in London would fit into the White Zone and would therefore be reimbursed £25. Whereas, for a London based event, people in London would fit into the Green Zone and would therefore not be eligible for a contribution.

However, the contribution amount for each zone will remain the same regardless of event or initiative location. In a nutshell, the zones will geographically move in line with the geographical location of the event or initiative, but the contribution amount in each zone will not change.

Does the contribution cover one-way or the round journey?

The round journey. For example, if you travel 50 miles to get to a CP Teens UK event or initiative, you will fall into the Yellow Zone - you will therefore be reimbursed £10 only, not 2 x £10. It is only a contribution.

What if I am travelling by train/public transport/taxi?

If you are travelling by train, public transport, or by taxi, you can claim 30% back for all journeys £15+ up to a maximum contribution of £40. For example, a £100 train journey = £30 contribution.

Contributions for trains/public transport/taxis are higher than the contributions for fuel as it is more expensive than driving.
